No C2C Candidates 
Database Administrator will work with and within the development team to support application development and production release process.  Provide code reviews and advise developers on SQL code standards and best practices.  Working within the Data Management team to support data process implementations.  Help with troubleshooting data and DB Server performance issues.  Work with the DBA team to provide administrative support for the database environment, and assist with automating and enhancing the maintenance processes.

REPORTS TO:  Director Data Management
  • Advise developers on the most efficient database designs
  • When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
  • Provide code reviews to make sure the database code meets company standards for readability, reliability, and performance
  • Support release processes for assigned projects/development team(s)
  • Identify and analyze data discrepancies and data quality issues and work to ensure data integrity
  • Work within a scrum team to complete any necessary development tasks
  • Support the Data management team in production loading and release processes
  • Availability to participate in 24/7 on-call rotation as needed
  • Execute SQL Server admin tasks
  • Administration of SQL Server permissions across multiple environments
  • Support SSIS configuration and deployment
  • Promote automation, optimization, and operational efficiencies
  • And other duties as assigned

  • 5+ years experience with MS-SQL administration and development functions is required
  • 3+ years experience administering enterprise-level production MS-SQL servers and databases
  • Expert knowledge of DBA techniques and day to day job functions is required
  • Hands on experience with SQL Server 2008/2012/2014 is required
  • Experience with Source Control and code release process
  • Experience in working with and troubleshooting SSIS packages
  • Experience with data mining, monitoring, and tuning with very large data sets is a plus
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Previous experience with Red Gate database tools is a plus
  • Previous work with Agile Scrum environment is a plus

  • Expert in SQL scripting, stored procedures, and construction of highly complex queries
  • Ability to utilize various tools to troubleshoot DB Environment.
  • Ability to efficiently tune, debug, troubleshoot SQL code
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as {{Git / Mercurial / SVN}}
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to clearly articulate solution alternatives
  • Flexibility to work in an interrupt driven production support environment
  • Strong work prioritization, planning, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication for representation of clear and concise results.
  • Be able to collaborate effectively, work closely within a coordinated team environment, and maintain composure while dealing with time sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to perform under pressure and juggle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Self-directed and motivated.
