Position: SME Software Developer

 

Summary: Our client has an opportunity for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Software Developer supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy Multum Printing project. The CMOP is a network of seven (7) highly-automated production facilities which employ a mixture of robotic devices, conveyor systems, and human factors to accurately fill and ship nearly 117,000,000 prescriptions per year for healthcare beneficiaries including our nation’s Veterans and patients eligible for care through Indian Health Service (IHS).

The candidate will participate in a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to writing a Multum printing Patient Medication Information (PMI) interface solution to pass data to all applications that handle and print PMI. The Candidate will be required to support requirements, design

and development to accomplish the following:

  • Pass PMI information through transfer database
  • Build testing tools to assist in testing the PMI printing and allowing testing to be repeatedly performed
  • Modify applications to print new Multum PMI data

 

SME Software Developer Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and design standardized approach to integrate passing of printing information to legacy hardware and software systems
  2. Modify legacy C++ applications
  3. Develop solutions that integrate with existing VA CMOP architecture
  4. Program using industry standard methods
  5. Work in Agile team environment with analysts, developers, testers, production support staff, stakeholders, and external vendor partners.
  6. Has in-depth understanding of technical principles, theories, concepts and their application across range of programs.
  7. Serves as a subject matter expert within technical domain area.
  8.  

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Computer Science w/ 12-15 years of relevant experience or Masters with 10-13 years of relevant experience
  • High level knowledge of SQL - indexes, normalization, schemas, stored procedures, and triggers
  • Collaborator, self-starter, strategic providing input to technical design to meet project objectives
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and deliver results key milestones targets
  • 10+ years .NET development
  • 8+years C++
  • 5+ years C#
  • 6+ Years SQL Server including some portion of those years in SQL Server 2012+ table and query design, troubleshooting and optimization
  • Experience developing within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Experience with Visual studio 2015/2017, Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2015
  • Experience with automated unit testing and integration testing

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • SignalR / OWIN
  • Ability to define WebAPI or WCF service design
  • Windows Services
  • 2+ years Bootstrap, JQuery
  • 2+ years ASP.NET MVC, CSS
  • OPC / control, data collection
  • MS SSRS
  • AWS / Azure

 

Comments: U.S. Citizenship is not required but preferred. Candidate will have a VA Tier 4 / High Background Investigation (BI) initiated as part of onboarding at VA. Successfully completing all VA onboarding requirements is required prior to commencement of work
