Senior Marketing Manager, Retail Marketing
Description

Senior Marketing Manager, Retail is accountable for supporting the development, execution and continuing improvement of Retail Marketing strategies, programs, tactics and plans that support the retail lending goals (mortgage, home equity and unsecured lending). This includes supporting the design, development, execution and evaluation of integrated marketing plans for selected marketing programs, designated corporate initiatives, targeted initiatives, etc. for retail lending and retail deposits. 

Marketing 
Program Development & Execution (45%)

• Lead cross-functional teams in the development and execution on all aspects of complex integrated marketing campaigns encompassing: strategy development, creative development, population selection, legal and compliance approval, proofreading, internal communication development. 

• Lead and consult the ongoing development, plans / test to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of marketing efforts and refinement of processes. 

• Ensure BMO Harris Bank brand promise is reflected in all marketing and customer related materials and communications. 

• Identify opportunities to leverage all channels and engage appropriate business partners/leadership when developing and executing marketing initiatives 

Strategy 
Development & Analysis (25%)

• Assist in the development of plans to achieve marketing goals. Including identifying market opportunities, competitive positioning, and marketing enhancements 

• Work with analytics to develop analysis plan for all marketing initiatives and evaluate post-campaign results. 

• Partner with Research to gain key consumer insights to inform future marketing programs 

• Develop business cases to support financial metrics for all marketing programs and track actual results to plan. 

• Ongoing budget management and tracking 

• Tracking competitive marketing. 

Relationship 
and Agency Management (20%)

• Drive and manage the development of retail marketing campaigns and collateral from an agency perspective, including writing creative briefs, facilitating approvals, and managing execution. 

• Develop effective relationships and partnerships with other Marketing teams, Product, Sales Management, Legal and Compliance and other key influencers ensuring stellar communication, collaboration and gaining the necessary approvals to deliver marketing programs that support goals. 

Coaching 
& Mentoring (10%)

• Mentor junior staff within Marketing team- providing counsel on how they can be more effective in role and career guidance 

• Provide feedback to partners on how they can work more effectively with team
 
Qualifications

Knowledge:

• 5+ years marketing experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or related field 

• Financial Services experience preferred but not 
required 

• Strong knowledge of the marketing development process 
including strategy formulation, consumer insights, creative evaluation, media 
and production 

• Strong knowledge of direct and digital marketing and 
related strategies 

• Understand business plans, financial goals, objectives 


Skills:

• Strong strategic planning and marketing skills 

• Problem resolution and reasoning skills; able to maintain composure 
even in stressful situations 

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously 
with a high level of accuracy and within tight schedules 
Able to do ROI and NPV calculations as well as other financial calculations that would help to determine if a campaign should be executed and understand the results of a campaign.
