Title: Sr Network Engineer

Location: Atlanta, Ga

Duration:  Contract to Hire

Purpose: Plans, designs, develops, debugs and implements network hardware, software and system solutions across multiple platforms and architectures to support the enterprise IT requirements. Provide tactical support, deployment of client based solutions, and operational management within the distributed environment.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

Senior Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining the design and integrity of internal networks, including customer-facing hosted and cloud environments. They will provide expert technical assistance to team members with high-level system and networking request. This role will be responsible designing, implementing and testing complex infrastructure in support of our customer needs. Responsible for all the patching and vulnerability within Network Environment.

 

As a member of the Support Team, a Senior Network Engineer will provide onsite and remote support to our clients who have critical response time requirements for their business technology systems.  You will work independently and as part of a team to answer service desk calls, urgently analyze technical issues, address Level 2 escalations, work with the project manager on team related projects, and troubleshoot over the phone/onsite/via remote access.

 

Finally, this role will successfully demonstrate the skills required to secure and manage network infrastructures to protect productivity, mitigate threats, and reduce costs.

 

Basic Qualifications:

• Mitigating Network Security vulnerability and patching.

• Minimum Cisco CCNA level certification or experience.

• Comprehensive hands-on experience working with Cisco Nexus switches (9K, 7K and 5K).

• Extensive hands on experience with Cisco router/switch configurations and troubleshooting.

• Ability to perform complex troubleshooting to isolate, diagnose, and correct network problems.

• Strong customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written).

• Extensive knowledge of LAN/WAN environment and experience working with LAN/WAN technologies.

• Working knowledge of various network protocols including: TCP, UDP, IP.

• Knowledge of various network routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, IGRP, RIP.

• Knowledge of WAN communications mediums including: MPLS, Frame-relay, ISDN, SONET.

• Ability to support a global 24x7 operation; includes on-call schedule.

• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.

Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer and 7 years of experience as a technical engineer in the Wireless Communications Industry

• Expert knowledge in all packet based protocols such as TCP/IP (including protocols like DHCP, DNS, TCP, UDP, etc), MPLS and routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP4.

• Knowledge of Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) 

• Expert knowledge in Network Monitoring Systems and Device/Network Management Systems, like SNMP, etc.  (Orion, HPNA, etc)
