Position Details:

The Sr. Network Engineer’s role is to design, build, and implement network systems across the enterprise. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, corporate systems, associated software, and communication links. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions. 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
-Plan and implement any improvement, modification, or replacement of network infrastructure components. 
-Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts. 
-Develop and implement policies, procedures, and associated training for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery. 
-Develop and implement policies for network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, related documentation, and technical specifications information. 
-Monitor and analyze network performance across the organization’s LANs, WANs, and wireless deployments. 
-Monitor system capacity to determine its effect on performance and recommend enhancements to meet new or changing network demands. 
-Identify and remedy network performance bottlenecks. 
-Install and configure all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, Firewalls, APs, UPSs, and so on. 
-Inspect, maintain, and where necessary replace network cabling, voice/data jacks, and other network-related equipment. 
-Ensure network and IP connectivity of all workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure. 
-Provide on-call support for end users for all in-place network systems 


REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
-Extensive hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards such as --Ethernet, LAN, WAN, frame relay, TCP/IP, Wireless, etc. 
-Strong knowledge of network management and analysis tools 
-Extensive working experience using routing protocols (e.g. OSPF, BGP, HSRP/VRRP, etc.) 
-Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, including (Routers, Firewalls, Switches, Wireless) 
-Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. 
-Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. 
-Minimum of 5+ years of experience in data, voice or video networks 
-Minimum of 5+ years, Supporting LAN's, WAN's, TCP/IP and associated networking 

OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS
-Strong written and oral communication skills. 
-Strong interpersonal skills. 
-Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required. 
-Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. 
-Highly self-motivated and directed. 
-Keen attention to detail. 
-Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
-Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. 
-Maybe required to lift network equipment up to 50 lbs. 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
-Certifications with Cisco CCNA, CNNP, and/or Juniper JNCIP, JNCIS 
-ITIL Certification 
-CISSP Certification
