Apex Systems has an immediate contract opportunity for a Sr Oracle DBA in Manassas, VA. Our client is looking for candidates with 12.1 or 12.2 experience for this role. Interviews will be conducted immediately. If you are interested, please review the description below:

Scope of Work: 

1. Analyze input/output requirements, information flow, technical requirements, resources needed and select between alternative systems solutions in order to make a proposal for assigned Development Projects.

2. Design, develop, integrate third party components, test, install and support programs/systems.

3. Analyze technical and functional requirements and translate them into software solutions. Understand dependencies toward other systems and teams.

4. Evaluate and recommend technical feasibility and cost estimates of the proposed solutions.

5. Prepare installation and operating procedures.

6. Provide technical assistance to colleagues and assist in resolving problems reported by other team members. Develop and maintain technical documentation.

7. Supporting the delivered software and being part of a 'Center of Expertise' problem solving team. Analyze support cases and, when appropriate, provide solutions following the established case management processes.     




Level: (Junior/Specialist/Expert)

Jr = 1-5 yrs / Spec=5-10yrs / Exp= >10 + yrs

Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)


Unix: HPUX or Linux


Shell/Perl/Python scripting


Understanding of Oracle multi-tenant on 12.2 version


Understanding of Oracle replication - DataGuard, Golden Gate


Understanding of Oracle Advanced Security, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and Database Vault


Knowledge of TLS/SSL and configuration of Oracle Wallet


Performance tuning - AWR tools/SQL tuning


Managing/automating the Oracle database server installations, migrations, upgrades, backup/recovery etc


Software development tools (Toad, Clearcase, eclipse, exceed, Quality centre, Jira, Confluence etc.)
