Sr. Consulting Project Manager - Infrastructure

Overview: Our client, one of the Nation's leading IT hardware, software, and solutions providers is in need of an Senior Consulting Project Manager to lead, manage, project initiatives for their customers. 
As a Senior Project Manager you can expect to be in the middle of the action, deploying enterprise level technical solutions for our client's customers. You will be partnered with industry leading Engineers, Technical Leads, Project Managers and Solution Architects enabling your ability to deliver Projects for your customers.

Our client has and continues to invest heavily in growing their Services Project Management team over the last three years.
Below are the main principals, responsibilities, qualifications, and the 'why' behind the 'what' that anyone in this role will be expected to provide / bring to the table. 
  • Increasing success rate of current/ongoing, and upcoming projects
    • Independently manages project and applies Engagement Methodology.
    • A professional, customer-focused attitude and courteous manner towards clients, partners and peers.
    • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills including demonstrated experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective.
    • Three or more years experience in leading significant Cisco, Data Center, Virtualization, and Microsoft or Advanced Technology projects across all solution areas.
    • PMP certification preferred.
    • Understands ITIL Framework
  • Providing project leadership and managing both internal and external expectations.
    • ?Conducts weekly reviews and updates of project scorecards and reviews and approves project time on schedule.
    • Bachelor degree in business or computer related field or equivalent experience.
    • Six to nine years experience in delivering quality Infrastructure Project Management.
  • Prevent project scope errors and a single point of contact to their customers.
    • Determines the appropriate documentation (communication plans, schedules/timelines, status reports, quality plan, closure summary, budget, risk plan, etc.) for projects. Manages the quality and delivery of documentation to clients. 
  • Improving team and project productivity and efficiently, reduce and manage risk
    • ?Facilitates the sharing of information across the project management team (information from conferences, best practices research, lessons learned from experience, training seminars, etc.) by building tools/sites, creating webinars and wikis, organizing ad hoc meetings, etc.
  • Provide and apply previous experience to mitigate risks and potential pitfalls to a project plan. 
    • ?Problem Solving & Decision Making - work with team members to gather information and determine possible/probable impacts to the project, document mitigation steps taken in troubleshooting and communicate these to the team and customer.
    • Documentation and Deliverable - manage clear, concise deliverable utilizing the appropriate document templates
  • Manage project milestones, planning, and evaluating project costs. 
    • Manages project procurement and adjusts schedules as necessary. 
      Ensure that projects adhere to quality control standards such as project change orders, reporting and issues tracking.
    • Owns financial performance (budget to actual, hours remaining, expenses, etc.) Accountable for projects' profit and loss.
    • Negotiates changes (cost, scope, effort, schedule solution, resource commitment, etc.) to agreeable result.
    • Capable of independently negotiating in difficult circumstances without assistance.
  • Strive to provide white clove customer experience for any and all of their partners. ?
    • Sharing knowledge and being a champion for the project management discipline
    • Stay abreast of industry best practices.
  • Resolve problems faster than ever and help to identify additional opportunities by building relationships and providing a solutions oriented approach to your projects and assigned customers. 
    • ?Evaluate customer 'wins' to identify and promote best practices
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate, lead, build teams, and recommend business strategies.
    • Must be proficient in solving business problems, applying technology and frameworks and be capable of demonstrating proficiency in Enterprise IT infrastructure solution issues.
    • Has significant successful experience in leading projects involving multiple technologies or large and complex implementations.
