Job Scope & Purpose:
Our exclusive biotech partner is building a unique accelerator for cell and gene therapy and needs your expertise in Molecular Biology and viral vector lab work specific to lentiviral or retroviral vector biology. In this role, you will help the Director of the group in leading projects and driving the lab teams to accomplish experiment and platform initiatives for immune, cell, and gene therapy projects. You will specialize in scientifically hands-on with molecular biology, vector-based technologies, and cell processing/culture techniques in this unique role. Primary Role Responsibilities:
  • You will be an initial hire and help develop viral vector-based strategies for the genetic modification of human T-cells with chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) and T cell receptors (TCRs)
  • You will be asked to apply recent advances in synthetic biology to design, create, and characterize the next generation of CARs/TCRs
  • You will also have the hands-on ability to engineer, culture, and characterize CAR/TCR function in vitro
  • You will be able to assist with expansion and cell banking of engineered cell lines to the team

Primary Role Requirements:
  • Ph.D. with 3+ years industry or MS with 10+ years industry in Biology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry.
  • Expertise in molecular biology, cloning, recombinant expression construct design, protein chemistry (PAGE, Western blot, ELISA), qPCR, and flow cytometry is required
  • Experience working with T-cell culture and techniques to characterize T-cells including cytokine analysis, cytotoxicity, and proliferation assays is helpful
  • Molecular technologies including Gene editing (CRISPR/Cas9), ddPCR, RT-PCR, Next-generation sequencing (NGS), library generation, and high-throughput screening methods is preferred
  • You must come to this team with a working style that is detail-oriented, organized, and technically competent in relation to science needs
  • You must be highly adaptable and responsive and committed to completing tasks in a timely fashion in an ever-evolving biotech environment
  • You will hold excellent oral and written communication skills, including supporting documentation in laboratory notebooks and study reports for regulatory filing activities
