Title: Software Engineer
Location: Nashville, TN- Sitting on site in Nashville.
Industry: Retail/Ecommerce
Estimation, Design, and Analysis:
  • Work with Development and Delivery managers to size and estimate software changes and features based upon functional and technical experience.
  • Perform technical analysis to determine best ways to meet functional objectives.
  • Prototype or perform proofs of concept as needed to prove out feasibility of technical approaches for new capabilities.
  • Participate in the design of system changes, where relevant to functional and technical expertise.

Development and Delivery:
  • Develop and deliver back-end components for applications and RESTful APIs, ensuring outcomes can be commonly leveraged by other application teams.
  • Demonstrate expertise in writing quality, simplified code including but not limited to C#.
  • Integrate applications with third party systems.
  • Provide code reviews as required.
  • Continually consider the team to which assigned, collaborating with all members and pulling work forward wherever possible.

Production Support:
  • Ensure availability as L3 support when needed to own work that is currently in production.
  • Ensure issues identified in production are opportunities to improve all future work.
  • Identify areas of weakness in the assigned application suites that must be improved in order to prevent production issues, sharing those with manager to ensure they are backlogged and evaluated properly.
  • Provide comprehensive handoffs of feature/function/troubleshooting approaches to Application Support teams.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.
  • May Perform other duties as assigned as a Systems Integration software engineer: Including Develop and deliver integration components for system-to-system communications. These may include APIs, adapters, message handlers, data transformations, and Intersystems Cache data objects.

  • Exposure to agile development SDLC and tools, such as JIRA or TFS
  • Working knowledge of with ASP.Net Core, .Net framework, JavaScript, CSS and HTML5
  • Experience building RESTful and SOAP API’s. Familiarty or Experience with WCF a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Object Oriented Programming, preferably with C#.
  • Working knowledge of API management systems or enterprise service buses.
  • Intersystems Caché or Ensemble familiarity helpful; willingness to learn required.
  • Ability to create self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components.
  • Unit testing using NUnit or similar.
  • Automating the build process for continuous integration environments.
