Position: Systems Admin
Location: 1010 N St Mary’s Street, San Antonio, TX 78215 
Program: Brand new contract - on year 1 out of 5 years. As a Systems Admin you will be responsible for administration of a highly virtualized Windows Environment for a global implementation of Microsoft UC (Skype for Business) for a DoD Customer.

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance per contract requirements.

Systems Administrators will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the systems supporting a global implementation of Microsoft UC Services (Skype for Business) in a highly-virtualized Hyper-V environment. The ideal candidate is a strong Windows Systems Admin that is looking to get in a security based role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day System Administration functions, including effective provisioning, installation/configuration, patching, operation and maintenance of systems hardware/software, network hardware/software, storage systems
  • Support Windows Active Directory, storage, network, backups, and supporting infrastructure
  • Operate and maintain Monitoring and Management tools like Microsoft SCOM, Microsoft SCCM
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
  • Responsibility for the administration and support of the following platforms and components hosting the Skype for Business platform including:
    • Microsoft Hyper-V
    • VMWare vCenter
    • Windows Server 2012 R2
    • Windows Server 2008 R2
    • HP DL360 Class Servers
    • HP DL 380 Class Servers
    • Microsoft SCCM
  • Hardware support and troubleshooting of primarily Cisco and HP hardware, and virtualization support/troubleshooting in a Hyper-V environment
  • Strong customer service and technical expertise to respond to clients and partners on the phone when remotely troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software related problems
  • Analyze systems, storage, software, and network utilization problems using diagnostic and error recovery techniques and initiates corrective action
  • Apply system updates, patches, and configuration changes
  • Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the project team
  • This position requires the ability to work a shift schedule and be part of an on-call rotation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Holds at least a US Secret Clearance
  • Meets IAT II Certification requirements
  • Strong technical knowledge of Windows 2012 to include Active Directory as well as Hyper-V experience is required.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of a range of computer and networking software and hardware systems and related technologies.
  • Experienced troubleshooting connectivity issues on servers, network devices, and government network environments
  • Able to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Certifications and Experience

  • Associate level Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare, or HP certification such as MCSA or CCNA
  • 5+ years' experience with system administration with three or more of the following:
    • Microsoft Windows 2012 OS
    • Microsoft Hyper-V
    • Microsoft SCOM
    • Microsoft SCCM
    • VMWare
    • Redhat Enterprise Linux
    • Other technologies related to components listed in duties and responsibilities section

Desired Experience:

If you do not have experience in these tools – must have a desire to learn and operate these tools

  • Experience in HP NNMI
  • Experience in HP OMI
  • Experience with Splunk
