Position Description:
The candidate will be part of a small team responsible for management, administration, and support of a few hundred physical and virtual workstations, laptops, and servers in direct support of administrative and engineering staff. 
The candidate should be an experienced IT professional who is comfortable with both Windows and Linux operating systems with an emphasis on Linux.  In addition the candidate should have a strong working knowledge of computer networks and experience with networking and security appliances.  The candidate must be a motivated self-starter with a strong ability to quickly learn new technologies and techniques on the job. The candidate will be supporting end users as well as building high performance systems to support research and development projects.
Required Skills:
  • A DoD SECRET level or higher security clearance or the willingness to obtain
  • A four year degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Experience with Windows and Linux desktop and server support (installation, patching, auditing, configuration, security, Active Directory integration, SMB/CIFS, NFS, etc.)
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vCenter/vSphere/Workstation)
  • Experience installing and maintaining enterprise storage systems (SAN, NAS, etc.)
  • Experience designing, installing and troubleshooting network architectures and firewalls
  • Experience managing backup solutions (Tape/Disk, etc.)
  • Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team, to solve challenging problems, and to self-motivate
  • Experience creating and presenting information with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) 

Desired Skills (not required but candidate will have exposure to these skills in this role):
  • Experience working with configuration managements tools (Puppet, Ansible. etc.)
  • Experience with Cisco (networking and security hardware)
  • Experience with long-haul networks (hardware, out of band management)
  • Experience installing and developing cloud infrastructure and services (Azure, AWS, etc.)
  • Experience configuring and operating NSA Cryptographic Devices (i.e. KG-175)
  • Experience with the DIACAP and/or RMF frameworks
  • Experience with system hardening and compliance tools (STIGs, CIS, SCAP, Nessus/ACAS)
  • Experience as an ISSM or ISSO
  • One or more professional certifications:
  • RHCSA/RHCE
  • MTA/MCSA/MCSE
  • CCNA/CCNP
  • Security+/CISSP
