Apex Systems is currently looking for a Systems Administrator - Mainframe Scheduler

Job Details:
Will be converting current scheduling system from CA CA-7/11 11.3 to IBM Workload scheduler (IWS) 9.5. The current environment is approx 14k batch jobs that are run on multiple platforms, zOS, Windows and Linux. This person will be responsible for the configuration of IWS, using best practices and converting the current batch schedules.
Requirements:
  • scheduling expert that will be responsible for the conversion of the scheduling environment and utilizing the full features of the IWS software.
  • Required 3-5 years experience administering CA-7/11.
  • Required 5 years experience administering IWS, at least v9.3 with familiarity with version 9.5 preferred.
  • Responsible for IWS configuration and utilization the advanced features of the software product.
  • A total of 14k batch jobs on multiple platforms will need to be moved from CA7/11 to IWS 9.5, approximately 2,ooo of the 14,000 jobs are run on Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Required, the ability to create conversion scripts either using REXX, SAS or any other standard language.
  • It is desired that the current scheduling CA-7/11 processes are reviewed and improvements suggested and implemented where practical.
