Apex Systems is looking for a Systems Administrator at the Eglin AFB in FL. The labs are currently located in Fort Worth and San Antonio, TX. The labs will relocate to Eglin in the late spring early summer time frame.


The Systems Administrator will be part of a team which provides IT repair, maintenance, logistics, operations, and engineering services to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of Reprogramming  Enterprise IT Systems. Candidates will perform all Systems Administrator duties providing direct support to enterprise networked systems in a DOD environment. Candidates will need to support and implement the CSI systems to include account creation on multiple systems, unlocking accounts, partitioning storage, assisting with onsite Mission Data testing, working with vendors and customers to ensure a full operational system is running, applying stigs, patches, and updates.


  • Manage NetApp Hardware and Software Configurations, Client Software and Hardware, GPO Management, VMware Configurations
  • Active Directory Configurations, Email Configurations, DNS Configurations, SCOM/SCCM Configurations & Administrations, WSUS Configuration, Database Configurations
  • Cisco Network Hardware and Software Configuration
  • EPO Configurations
  • SPLUNK Configurations
  • SCAP/ACAS Scanning, Certificate Authority Configuration
  • SharePoint Configuration
  • JIRA and KPS Configuration
  •  HP Fortify Configuration and Administration
  •  HBSS Administration experience
  • Experience with FortiNet Firewall Configuration and Administration
  • IdentityIQ Configuration and Administration experience
  • McAfee Data Loss Prevention Configuration / Administration
  • Windows server experience

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Act on site-specific matters relating to daily operations
  • Perform systems administration of desktop and server systems
  • Desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security,
  • Operate System installation, and other local area system administration related functions.
  • Determine isolation and resolution of complex hardware and software problems involving the application, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure
  • Provide Tier II and III IT support
  • Perform installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of desktop computers and related systems.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop systems, workstations, servers, and network issues in a closed loop environment.
  • Perform desktop installation, basic cabling, network monitoring, and troubleshooting of the network and systems residing on the network.
  • Perform account maintenance, data integrity, and file system security for the desktop environment.
  • Assist in determining suitable software to meet user requirements.
  • Recommend hardware and software solutions, including new acquisition and upgrades.
  • Conduct training programs designed to educate the organization’s computer users about basic and specialized applications.
  • Communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Assist with documenting and cataloging systems for historical and information assurance purposes.


Experience with analyzing, configuring and trouble-shooting a variety of systems.

Experience diagnosing and responding to security incidents and system faults.

Hands on experience on troubleshooting and analyzing problems with major systems, including Windows, Linux/Unix, and implementing STIGs.

Thorough understanding of design, configure and implement storage solutions.

Ability to maintain and update relevant systems and process documentation.

Ability to establish and maintain a strong working relationship with all team members.

Understanding of enterprise, system and application level security issues.

Knowledge and understanding of system hardening, tools, guidelines and benchmarks and encryption technologies with the ability to apply and update when appropriate.

Must have secret security clearance, last periodic reinvestigation must be within the last five years.

Attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access and maintain a current Security + (CE) certification.
