Apex Systems is looking for a Tech Writer I in the Charlotte NC area!   Description:  To provide documentation support for quality, engineering, manufacturing, product, process or safety business units. To record, review, edit, publish, and distribute documents through the maintenance of databases.   Basic Qualifications:
  • High school Diploma/equiv is a MUST
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Technical writing ability (Engineering/manufacturing exposure or experience would be ideal but is not required)
  • Motivated and self driven. good presentation skills.
  • Enovia/PLM, SAP and Lotus Notes knowledge is preferred.

Major Duties:
  1. Establishes and updates documentation control for assigned business unit. Maintains documentation files for the following policies, operating procedures, specifications, standards, quality manuals, and test procedures, customer complaints, standard deviations, etc. for quality, engineering, manufacturing, product, process or safety business units. Incorporates changes into databases and generates reports for new and existing standards utilizing personal computer-based software or mainframe online systems. Generates standard and unique reports by special request. Verifies data accuracy and completeness prior to releasing documents for distribution.
  2. Schedules and performs documentation audits to verify internal compliance between plant and department policies, procedures, specifications, and external compliance to government standards. Maintains and ensures registration and compliance to International Standards Organization (ISO), Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Occupational Safety Health Act (OSHA), and other government agency standards.
  3. Communicates with both plant and division personnel to resolve document discrepancies and implement changes to documentation protocol.
  4. Prepares document packages and initiates the electronic approval cycle, including logging, routing for approvals, publishing for distribution. Maintains extensive manual and electronic file knowledge to retrieve and store documents. Retrieves and destroys obsolete documents.
  5. Updates and maintains training guidelines and content for Quality Department. The job also requires performing other duties as assigned in support of the Quality System at the site.
