Project Overview:

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a program manager at Google, you lead complex, multidisciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines.


Overall Responsibilities:

As a Program Manager in Technical Infrastructures Global Commodity Management (GCM), you will lead initiatives and projects to deliver strategic operational improvements to the business. You will leverage your experience in both operational and project roles to focus on end-to-end business process and system improvements. The processes span all operational areas required for effective supply chain management. Extensive engagement with our internal SW organization and business stakeholders will be required to identify system gaps and, in response, to develop new systems or tools. You will be responsible to operationalize and create metrics dashboards which make visible the status and ongoing operational improvements. You will also be driving change management across users of new processes and systems and lead large cross-functional teams through end-to-end project lifecycle to implement new processes and systems. Audit metrics for long term success


Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data to Identify opportunities for processes or metrics to drive improvements in NPI and supply chain operations
  • Engage with internal customers and partners developing operational models and metrics to Identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Deliver communication to all levels of organization to ensure support, awareness and effectiveness of initiatives and promote project management best practices

Job Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in technical field or operations research
  • 4 years relevant work experience in operations and business process management
  • Data mining experience and skills with SQL, Oracle
  • Previous experience leading cross-functional project teams
  • 2+ years’ experience in supply chain management, both functional and project management roles

Nice to Have:

  • MBA or MS in technical field or operations research
  • 5+ years’ experience in supply chain management, both functional and project management roles
  • Skills with Google Big Query/Dremel and Tableau reporting in addition to data mining skills with SQL, Oracle
  • Previous experience implementing new tools and systems
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and communication skills
