Apex systems is seeking a highly skilled Technical Remote Support Engineer for a fortune 500 company located in Beachwood, OH. The Remote Support Engineer will provide support to customers and end users where the industrial product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature. The ideal candidate will have industrial automation experience with PLCs, hardware and/or applications and can provide a high level of customer support remotely. **In this position you will provide technical support, troubleshooting and service offerings to Industrial customers via phone, email and video conferences**

Job Requirements

(
3+ years exp.)

  • Excellent technical customer service ability troubleshooting industrial products, systems and PLCs via phones/emails.
  • Experience with HMI’s (Human Machine Interface).
  • Industrial field service and customer exposure.
  • Ability to use electronic test equipment and software to solve systems and product problems.
  • Attention to detail

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Technical expertise in programming and applications.
  • Good understanding of motion control systems, HMI, PLC and hardware.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance remotely via telephone, chat and email, on products to field service personnel, distributors, integrators, and customers.
  • Work with other engineers, manage multiple issues with changing priorities and deal with high pressure situations successfully.
  • Document all actions taken in the appropriate systems, set expectations with customers and follow-up on an action item or activity needed to resolve. 
  • Accurate documentation of solutions to commonly experienced problems, workarounds, etc.

Highly Desired:

  • Should be able to interpret electrical schematics.
  • Motion Control programming, multi-axis servo controls, Sercos, CIP, Ethernet IP, networks, safety systems Programming in C is a plus
  • Ladder Logic programming

Education:

  • 4 year Bachelor degree (preferable in Electrical, mechanical or computer Engineer) or equivalent experience
