Apex is seeking a motivated senior technical writer to join a team supporting the IT Security Category Management team for a federal customer.

The support includes IT Security Category across all FAS Categories to comply with government wide category management being implemented by higher levels of the Federal Government outside of FAS.

Prior work or educational experience in cybersecurity is required. Other criteria include:

  • Skill in creating policies that reflect system security objectives 
  • Skill in determining how a security system should work (resiliency and dependability)
  • Knowledge of industry-standard and organizationally accepted analysis principles and methods
  • Knowledge of known vulnerabilities
  • Knowledge of applicable cyber polices, Presidential Directives
  • Knowledge of individual cybersecurity and IT security category initiatives knowledge of current industry methods for evaluating, implementing, and disseminating IT security assessment, monitoring detection and remediation tools



Bachelor’s degree and at least six years of experience in technical writing and/or cyber security

  • Ability to effectively review and edit to ensure consistency with national policies and programs,
  • Technical writing experience using editorial standards for clarity, language, logical organization and style.
  • Skill in developing a variety of new materials, fact sheets, brochures,
  • Experience and/or degree in information technology and cybersecurity
