Job Duties/Description: 

Provide technical assistance received via phone, email, messaging applications, and service management system around telecommunication systems, for example fiber, microwave and / or radio systems. 
Assess the nature of problems and resolve basic support issues. 
Troubleshoot software and hardware issues within discipline. 
Log or record support tickets/cases in the service management system. 
For more complex issues, transfer internal customers to second-level Support Technicians. 
Performs general tasks and completes routine assignments. 
Completes assigned project tasks. 
Receives help in the completion of more complex assignments. 
Develop technical proficiency within disciplines. 

Complete training courses and certifications. Wiring responsibilities require the ability to differentiate between colors. Knowledge of fiber optics splicing and testing desired. Demonstrate and apply intermediate level communication skills for verbal and written communications. Work safely at all times using personal protective equipment and other safety equipment. 
Actively works with fellow team members to complete group assignments. 
Work under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. 

Physical demands and environment of the job: 
Candidates may be asked to work shifts including nights, weekends & holidays. 
Candidates may be called out after-hours to provide emergency support. 
Candidates may receive storm restoration assignments that require up to 16 hour shifts. 
Candidates may be required to travel to perform work at remote sites. 
A valid state driver license, at a minimum, and reliable transportation to travel. 

Minimum Requirements: 
Education: Associate Degree in a related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 
Experience: 2 or more years of related experience.

Hours: 7-4 Team size: 12 technicians / 1 Material Handler. Interview pricess in person then hire. This role is more in the field than the other posing (JP3360)
