Job Overview
Our client's Telematics department is seeking a Testing and Validation Engineer to support an Agile Development team responsible for their connected vehicle platform.
The Telematics team is part of the client's digital group and is responsible for connectivity and operations of our client's hybrid cloud (Azure / On Prem) Telematics infrastructure. Our client's cloud platform team is looking for a person with relevant knowledge or experience in testing of infrastructure as code systems in a cloud environment.

  • Lead software test and validation teams.
  • Coordinate efforts with external partners such as colleagues in Portland, and off-shore suppliers.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders' status of current and future Telematics applications.
  • Routinely make decisions impacting others and processes.
  • Experience preparing and delivering presentations to groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills.
  • Experience leading and mentoring others in identifying and solving root cause of complex problems.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives through optimization of processes and best practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of business processes and applications.
  • Facilitate meetings and document outcomes.
  • Actively work with the client's Engineers and methodology experts to analyze business needs, and document business and system requirements.
  • Full understanding of the software development lifecycle, focused on test management processes.
  • Coordinate testing efforts and validate software release changes.
  • Understand IT processes and work within designated guidelines.
  • Open and accepting of new challenges even in a completely new area.
  • Drive the implementation of Automated Test Plans and Test Cases.
  • Assist scrum teams and follow Agile processes.
  • Assist sprint planning using tools such as Jira.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or related field from an accredited university/college with 3+ year of related experience required

  • Experience with cloud solutions like AWS, Azure, Google, IBM or similar preferred.
  • Experience with UNIX/LINUX OS (RH, IBM AIX, Ubuntu, SUSE) Windows OS experience is a plus
  • Experience with the software development process required.
  • Experience with scripting language like Python, Ruby, Bash, Powershell, or similar preferred.
  • Experience with Networking and protocols preferred.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, clusters, and containers (Docker) preferred.
  • Experience with cloud computing services/platforms; IaaS, PaaS, and/or SaaS preferred.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like ELK, Nagios, Splunk, or similar preferred.
  • Experience with automation and CI/CD systems preferred.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Embotics, or similar preferred.
  • Experience with virtualization tools like VMware, Xen, or similar preferred.
  • Experience with development tools like Jenkins, Git, or similar preferred.
  • Experience with OpenStack, Cloud Foundry, or similar preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Dev/Ops and Agile Methodologies required
  • Experience with Test management tools such as Zephyr preferred.
