TFS Administrator - Raleigh, NC

Summary:

  • Administer and manage the Visual Studio Team Foundation Server platform
  • Setup, manage, and maintain security for various levels of access
  • Setup and maintain load balancing of TFS/VS environment
  • Apply TFS/VS patches and upgrades as required
  • Setup TFS collections, team projects, users, security and follow Microsoft TFS best practices
  • Work closely with development teams to understand installation/configuration needs, and resolve any issues related to the servers and software used by TFS
  • Setup and administer integration between TFS and other applications (i.e. ALM, GIT, HPSM, etc.)
  • Design automation frameworks and assist in the development/maintenance of automated build definitions
  • Modification of work item templates including creation of custom fields, workflow schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes
  • Assist in configuration of team pages including the setup of complex queries, permissions between IT and Business units, and TFS best practices
  • Train users and project administrators on TFS team best practices
  • Define and maintain documentation for setup, usage and administration of TFS
  • Define code migration standards and procedures for TFS
  • Upgrade and Migration of TFS 2008 to TFS 2015

Job Requirements

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Integration of TFS with 3rd party application
  • Expertise in TFS architecture and administration of all related components
  • TFS Administration experience including creating/maintaining TFS collections, projects, TFS roles/permission schemes, process templates, and build engine/build automation
  • TFS Process automation and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with Active Directory groups
  • Experience with requirements management, test case management, work item tracking and version control
  • Integration experience with other source code repositories (i.e. GIT) and other applications used throughout SDLC (i.e. QA management systems, incident tracking systems, etc.)
  • SQL Server experience
  • Experience using source code/configuration management and testing tools
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Strong understanding of the entire software development lifecycle process from request management, release management, code migration, and production releases
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery pipeline in Test, Stage, and Production environments a plus

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Jenkins and Docker
  • Scripting capabilities in PowerShell, SQL, TFS command line
  • Expert understanding of the entire software development lifecycle process from request management, release management, code migration, and production releases
