Unified Communications Engineer

Overview:

  • As the Unified Communications engineer you will apply subject matter knowledge and experience in the design and operation of Messaging/Communications platforms, and applications including telephony, mobility, unified messaging, presence, instant messaging, and audio/video/web conferencing.  
  • You will work on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of multiple factors.  
  • You will provide expertise support and guidance to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. 

Qualifications:

  • Provide level 3 and 4 support as well as engineering expertise of the various IPG Unified Communications platforms.
    • This includes the Microsoft Exchange 2013, Exchange Unified Messaging, Microsoft Lync 2013, Skype for Business Server, Acme Packet SBCs, Rightfax, and Cisco Ironport.
  • Participate in, manage, and execute migrations to the Skype for Business voice and Exchange UM platform.
  • Write design and support documentation for the team and operational support staff.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of IT support experience in a mid-size to large enterprise.
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting Microsoft Exchange 2013 with a minimum of 15,000 users.
  • Technical knowledge coupled with hands-on experience of supporting Microsoft Lync and/or Skype for Business Server.
  • Possess knowledge of communications protocols including SIP, H.323, H.264.
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory.
  • Presence & Instant Messaging.
  • Microsoft Lync/Skype for Business Enterprise Voice, Peer-to-Peer audio/video.
  • Multiparty conferencing via Audio, Video & Web.
  • Powershell UI and scripting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, MPLS, QoS.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
