Apex Systems, the nation’s 2nd largest Information Technology staffing firm, has an opportunity for a Virtualization Engineer to work for one of our clients in Miami, FL. This is a 1 year contract position with likely extensions. Cannot work C2C for this position.

Virtualization engineer:

Responsible for configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and support of the overall VMware ESX virtualization platform, Nutanix Hyperconverge infrastructure and VDI/Citrix infrastructure environment, in support of 24 X 7 business processes.  This Includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading the virtualization hypervisor, and HCI platform. It also includes diagnosing issues related to the underlying hardware platforms.

 

Experience:

•         College diploma or university degree in the fields of Computer Science, Engineering or related fields and/or 5 years of equivalent work experience.

• Excellent technical knowledge of network and directory services components.

• Hands-on Software/Hardware troubleshooting experience.

• Able to read and understand technical manuals and procedural documentation.

• Ability to conduct research into system infrastructure performance issues and products as required.

• Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

• Understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.

• Self-motivated and directed.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
