Apex Systems is currently seeking a Windows Admin for a client in Jacksonville, FL. This is a permanent position with excellent benefits! 


Job Duties

The System Administrator position is responsible for the administration and management of enterprise Windows based systems, VMware ESX environment and Citrix based systems.  This position will require an advanced technical knowledge of Windows systems to facilitate the install and management of the core operating system, IIS, Active Directory as well as the analysis and resolution of system hardware, software, networking and printing issues. Core responsibilities include building, installing and configuring all Windows based physical and virtual servers, deploying and testing the O/S, installing, configuring Citrix, patching servers, performance tuning and printing issues.

  • Responsible for the installation and administration of system software
  • Interact with Network, Storage, Database and application teams to configure and to optimize system use
  • Coordinate server system backups to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Monitor and analyze server resources to ensure optimal performance
  • Provide technical support for server systems via troubleshooting and telephone support
  • Coordinate with vendors on equipment configuration and resolution of problems related to printing, performance and applications
  • Make recommendations for upgrades and/or new server hardware, peripherals, and operating systems and accurately document hardware failures, repair, installations and removal

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' experience required
  • Excellent team and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Clear, analytical thinking and problem solving ability
